Special COVID-19 Update Global pandemic = Unprecedented change! In this months newsletter we outline a few of the Economic Responses from the Federal and NSW State Governments to support affected workers, businesses and householders. Other State Governments have their own responses - if you have a request for these please let us know. We have also provided a timely update on the HR impact of business closures and when a 'Stand Down' can be enacted under the Fair Work Act. We note that the Governments are updating their responses as new information comes to hand with more information being announced daily. We will try and keep people informed as new information is announced. Latest Economic Response Also included in the summary are a few notes on what employees can claim if they are forced to "work from home" during this crisis and what documents they should keep to claim these expenses on their future tax returns. Latest HR Guidance If you manage to remain open, what should you do if an employee is required to self-isolate or simply doesn't return to work due to health concerns. Should you consider split shifts to minimise the impact on workers if anyone does become ill? How does this impact WHS at work? We have summarised a number of guidelines that might be helpful to ensure you are keeping on the right side of the law with regards to these employee changes. Contact Us We can also undertake phone or video conferencing and have an online portal for electronic signatures and document exchange. If you are not already setup with our online portal please call us and we can set you up immediately. Remember we are all in this together.
